Winterlicious-2nd round-Cafe Boulud in Four Seasons

This week WW and me tried our 2nd winterlicious dinner in Café Boulud. To be honest, I have no idea with this restaurant, what I know is it’s in Four Seasons and the Michelin-starred Chef Daniel Boulud. The environment and decoration are the first class as I expected. The service is professional but not enough kindly as we met in La societe. And the food….is half and half. Half happy face and half sad face.

My appetizer is two large scallops with really delicious sauce, very recommended.

Digby Scallops– hazelnut crust, celeriac gremolata, brown butter

My fellow diner enjoy a chestnut soup with apple vinegar. It’s nice.

Chestnut Velouté– green apple, celery, apple cider vinegar

For my main dish, no judgement, but I haven’t finished this dish even I tried hardly. So you will understand what I mean….Can I just call it sour rice soup with fried flower??

Artichoke Risotto– buddha’s hand, crispy artichoke, parmesan emulsion

The beef is quite nice, I never had eaten such soft beef ever! From the picture I saw online it should be a whole carrot, now it turns to a slice of carrot..hmm…

“Pot au Feu”– bone marrow, carrot, turnip, potato

The chocolate dessert is amazing, no matter from what aspect.

Pear Chocolate Gateau– chocolate mousse, poached pear, hazelnut gelato

Coconut ice cream is also very yummy >.<

Winterlicious-La Societe

Really enjoy the decoration and the environment of this French restaurant. They arrange me to sit behind the window, so I can see the most part of the restaurant. The waitress are so nice. When we finished the bread but was still waiting for the first dish, she just came to us, apologized for the delay and then brought a new box of bread. I almost full after I ate the bread. There are two kinds of bread they serve, I like the white one ~~~
